Wedding Dress: Removing Makeup Stains Without Ruining it!
You’ve probably tried your wedding dress on multiple times before your big day. How else would you admire every inch of your splendid self in this amazing work of art?
But one fine day when you were admiring yourself in the mirror, you notice a foundation stain on your neckline from when you were putting it on! Your heart skips a beat! You frantically think of all the pictures which will be ruined as a result, and lament the fact that you weren’t more careful. Take it easy, though! We have a way to help you get rid off such stains!
Ready? Set. Go!
To start off, make sure you don’t rub the stain, regardless of how much you feel it will help. Water will also not work on its own, so don’t try that either.
Just relax and get a bar of dish soap! Test it on a less visible spot to make sure that it works and then apply it on the stain.
Step 1
Partly wet your towel with cold water and put a sparing amount of dish soap on it. Don’t over-squirt the soap to prevent an unmanageable mess. Additionally, be careful of the water’s temperature as hot water will cause the stain to set.
Step 2
Start rubbing gently in a circular motion on the edge and slowly move toward the center. Only apply sufficient pressure for it to work, or you might rip your precious dress in the process.
Step 3
Switch this motion with a gentle dab while using the dry end of the towel, but don’t use too much water, or it will saturate the dress and leave an obvious mark. This will help you lift the stain from the dress.
Step 4
Blow-dry it from a distance to restore it back to normal without melting it in the process.
This process is very delicate, and needs to be handled with great care to prevent the situation from worsening. Even the wrong rubbing motion can make the stain set. So it’s always a good idea to get it done professionally by a dry cleaner who has experience with wedding dresses. Once they work their magic, you’ll have a spotless gown in no time.
